Rodney and Erika McLeod are doing just that with Change Our Future’s 4th Annual 12 Days of Christmas giveaway, spreading joy once again this holiday season with their Fill-a-Cart initiative which gifts 20 Philadelphia families a $500 Target shopping spree. The McLeods spoke to The SUN about the importance of giving back to families in need during the holiday season.

In 2020, Rodney and Erika McLeod founded the Change Our Future Foundation, aiming to alter the trajectory for underserved young people of color. “Rodney and I saw so many communities where the students looked like us, but they didn’t have as many opportunities,” recalled Erika McLeod, 33.
As Rodney, 32, built a career with the NFL – he recently signed with the Cleveland Browns – the couple simultaneously devoted themselves to philanthropy in their adopted hometown of Philadelphia. Their foundation has raised hundreds of thousands of dollars through fundraisers like their extremely popular annual Sneaker Ball while partnering with local high schools.
At last year’s debut Youth Leadership Summit, “it was so inspiring to see students who maybe never believed in themselves displaying leadership qualities,” said Erika. For Rodney, a highlight has been college visits with the Foundation’s young men’s mentorship program…

The Change Our Future foundation, created by former Philadelphia Eagle and Super Bowl LII champion Rodney McLeod and his wife Erika, will host its third annual Sneaker Ball, presented by Wingstop Charities. Emmy Award-winning anchor/reporter Jason Martinez of Fox 29 News Philadelphia will host the ball on Thursday, starting at 8 p.m. at the Vie by Cescaphe located in the heart of Center City.

The American Association for Cancer Research (AACR) was thrilled to welcome Super Bowl Champion Rodney McLeod Jr. and Erika McLeod to the AACR Annual Meeting 2023 last month. The NFL safety and his wife, founders of the Change Our Future foundation, joined more than 21,000 researchers, physician-scientists, and advocates at the meeting to kick off a multi-year partnership between Change Our Future and the AACR.
